Brief Description: The Ewart Family Papers, dated 1864-1979, 2024, contain correspondence, clippings, and photographs collected by Carol King Heckman for her research on her ancestors, the Ewart family. Many of her ancestors were connected to Denison University either as alumni or trustees. This collection contains documents related to Thomas West Ewart (1816-1881; Denison University trustee, 1844-1851 and 1862-1881), Edward Gear Ewart (1857-1935; Denison University alumnus, 1878), Frank Carman Ewart (1871-1942; Denison University alumnus, 1892), and Elizabeth Sage Ewart (1874-1951; Shepardson College alumna, 1892). Also included in this collection is the written genealogy Heckman compiled and wrote titled Chronicles of the Ewarts 1740-1969 with Related Families.
