Description:
Prior to 1990, Denison's system for students to evaluate their professors was informal and only used by some professors. In 1990, Matt Stoner (student) submitted a proposal to the Academic Affairs Council requesting mandatory teacher and course evaluations for all Denison classes. The proposal was adopted and instituted in 1991.

Folder contains a letter from Cara Gilgenbach, former University Archivist, detailing the history of student evaluations for professors along with email correspondence for reference. Also included are copies of the Academic Affairs Council Minutes from 1990 detailing a proposal to institute a formal evaluation process.
