Originally, this record group was arranged under the names of the Dean/Provost, chronologically (Series D, P, and PD). In 2023, an administrative decision was made to create a new series simply labeled Series 004 - Office Administrative Files. Since this functional department has grown substantially since the early 1900s, it now holds several office staff and multiple Provost, Associate Provost, and Dean positions. This series addition to the Record Group reflects the way that this department has evolved while also keeping the original historic arrangement for the prior Provosts. Because of this however, some topics may be difficult to research if they cross the chronological lines between these series. Due to this, you are encouraged to contact the archives staff in order to get the best understanding of our collection holdings.
