Title:
Cooperative Housing (women's) (subject file)
Description:
From 1932 until 1960 Denison offered Cooperative Housing for women, initially as a way to help female students who were under financial constraints during the Great Depression. A male co-op was attempted at Denison; however, it only lasted one year. The women held monthly dinners where they hosted faculty, and were required to do all of the housework, shopping, and dinners themselves. The women had fun living there, leaving with stories about cooking mishaps, animals getting into their dorm, and other adventures.
Phys. Desc:
A booklet detailing anecdotes and information about co-op dorms at Denison, a list of all of the co-op dorms, house mothers, and students who lived in co-ops.
