Scope and Contents: A collection of original medieval manuscript leaves relating to the work of Otto F. Ege, art historian and the creator of the "Fifty Original Leaves from Medieval Manuscripts" portfolio. Holdings include one of the "Fifty Original Leaves" portfolios, donated by Percy Wiltsee (Denison Class of 1901), and additional collected and purchased medieval manuscript leaves. Of special note is the Alchemy Manuscript, transcribed by University of Erfurt student Reymbertus Eynbeck in 1459, which contains three texts. The first text was written by the Franciscan Johannes de Rupescissa and is referred to as "The Consideration of Quintessence." The third is a brief Pseudo-Lullian text referred to as "A Shortcut to the Philosopher's Stone."
