Brief Description: William Howard Doane was a musician and composer of more than a thousand hymns, as well as being a devout Baptist. He served on the Board of Trustees of Denison University and was a generous benefactor to the university. Many of his book donations are found in Special Collections, including Baptist hymnals and Sunday school song books, plus temperance hymns, Christmas cantatas, and secular compositions.
