The papers of professor Charles "Tony" J. Stoneburner who taught English at Denison University from 1966-1992.
This collection is divided into many parts. First, the personal papers includes material that was donated initially in the 1990s. These cover personal history, family history, Denison University administrative and teaching files, professional activity, and extensive correspondence with colleagues, friends, and notable figures.
The second part of the collection consists of 474 volumes of Dr. Stoneburner’s journals, dating from 1951 to 2020. The journals are filled with writings of Dr. Stoneburner’s daily life, intellectual insights, event notes, literary ideas, and religious reflections. They also contain letter drafts and some drawings by Dr. Stoneburner. The journals in and of themselves are 25 boxes in total, while there are 4 other boxes of other writings and correspondences that were included in the second acquisition.
Original processing and inventorying took place between 1990-2015.
Converted legacy written finding aid to Archon in 2015 by Parker Sumwalt.
